I'm in the process of rebuilding the front end of a 41 H. The dust shield on one spindle has been rotated about 1/4 turn due to a bearing failure sometime in the past. Can the dust shield be removed by heating it? TIA, ken

Just gently tap it off with a hammer.

They are put on there with a slip fit.

Is it welded on? The front end I have out here has a small dab of weld holding it on. If yours is that way, you could grind off the weld. Andy.

It doesn't appear to be welded. I can't find any info about replacing this part in any of my books.
It's listed as a separate part in the parts book.
I guess I'll try heating it a little and see if it will move any. ken
