I purchased a 350U, C175 engine. Engine knocks briefly at startup and rumbles a little a high rpm. Oil pressure drops to about 15 pounds at high idle after warm. Any chance new bearings will solve the problem or should I just go ahead and pull the engine.

i would check the oil pump before messing with the bearings. check the poressure releif valve, it might be sticking open some.

I dont think that you can change the main bearings wiout pulling the crank which requires alot more then just pulling the pan. The connection rod bearings can be changed just by removing the poil pan. Check the crank specs, if its too far gone, it will need to be addressed.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys!!
