I have a Wico mag with the following markings. Model X. Spec XH 184. Ser 331956. This mag looks like it would substitute for an IHC F4 mag. Anyone out there know whether I can use this Wico mag in place of an F-4 mag? THANKS!!!

Wico XHG184 replaces the F4 IH mag. Should be clockwise base-mount with 30° lag angle
I don't know what the "G" is for.

Can't say for sure but sounds like it might be the same type mag used on Allis tractors and if so yes it will bolt right on and work just fine on an IH/farmall tractor, at least the h/m/a/b/c etc

John knows a lot about Wicos. He should be able to tell you.

Hey there AB, Hope alls well your way. Im pretty decent on the Wico X and XH series "electricaly" speaking and the 2 cylinder versions used on Deeres and they were made very very universal for use on all sorts of 1, 2 or 4 cylinder engines of alllll lll brands even regardless of CW or CCW rotation buttttt ttttt ttttt ttttt ttttt ttttt ttttt
I dont have info regarding the various mounting configurations like for IHC use. Its the mechanics of the mounting I cant help with but I could help electrical wise and operation n testing/troubleshooting if ever needed.

Sorry, no help on this one, take care now

John T
