I have a 966. The service valve is stuck in the open position. My question is, what is the best way of getting it to move without doing any damage?

I guess a little more info would have helped. The hydraulic valve is stuck in the open position. It's under the seat. There are two.One works fine and one is stuck.I can't get it to move at all. What can I do?

I'll bite. What "Service Valve"?

Are you talking about the air conditioning R-12 service port?

Sounds like he is talking about the remotes. You ever hear of one "sticking"?

I've never ran into that problem before.

If it is a remote that is stuck try this on the pack you will see a small round plug ( if it has not fallen out ) it will pop out as it is just a push in cap use a small screwdriver this will give you access to the unlatchen screw using a flatblade screwdriver back the screw off a littel bit by turning counter clock wise and see it this will let it unlatch also remove the cover on the ft. below the seat and check to make sure that nothing got behind the linkage . Now ya may have to use a hammer and long drift punch to tap it back and then remove the valve and disassembal to see what has happned . Best to have a book tosee what your dealing with here if you have never been in one before.

Now that we have the fact that it is the remote that is stuck cleared up. I did see on the back a small cap.One was there, and, one was missing. And,I did see a screw head.I was wondering if that would release the valve.Should I keep trac of the number of turns,And should I turn it back the same number of turn when it release's? I'm working all weekend.I will give this a try on Monday.I'll try to find a book. I could'nt get the name streight,so you know I've never been inside of this before.Look out..

Well yea keep track of the turns i would start with backing it off a 1/4 turn to start . Now since ya have all weekend try and get and I T manual for your tractor from a local farm supply store or a dealer as they all can order them , this will help ya . Just do not force it . Since i can not just run down there and fix it for ya.
