I posted a question a year ago, and didn't save the results. BUt I am back to I have a 656D with 28x34 tires want to have row crop to go down the row and I want it to look like the one I drove as a Kid.. there is a 460 with power steering problems for sale cheap in my area he says the rubber is 14.9 X 38 which would work well in potatoe rows.. will the rims slide onto my 656 If i remember right Farmall made two different sizes in the axle and most here in Maine were the large size.. THanks for any help I am waiting a return call from the person selling the 460
thanks

Tom: You'd almost have to check individual 460s. Some had large axles and some small. Some where changed from small to large after being sold. I don't think there is any way other than the tape measure to be sure. Don't rule out 300 and 350 as a few of those got changed to large axle.

The M, SM, SMTA, 400, 450, 560, 656, 666 and 686 all have the large axles. I can tell you another good source, those Farmalls turned into Chism Rider bean harvesters. I suspect all high clear tractors had the large axle. I had a set of the Chism Rider wheels for duals on my 560.
