Friend has a 450 with a weak hyd pump. Well he got a what is suppose to be a good used one today and I will be installing it soon. Any how the book doesn't show any gaskets. So the question is there any gaskets I will need to have when I install this pump?? I'm thinking there should be 1 where it bolts to the engine and maybe one where the distubutor then bolts to the pump. Am I right or does it go on with out gaskets??
Thanks

Old, I would sure like to hear how the 450 hyd pump change-
out came out. I have been avoiding mine badly leaking pump and wondered what you found. How was the old pump worn?
Can they be remanufactured? Where would a rebuilt one be had?
Any good swear words work for you? Leo

Well the first time we put in new seals etc. Then tried a new relielf vavle and springs and both where a waste of time and money. When the weather gets warmer I will be putting on this new/used pump and see how that goes. I fifugre it will be a waste of time and money again but who knows I may be wrong on that. I do know valuebilt sells rebuilt pumps but they aren't cheap, around $500-600 for one. Thats why this guy has held off for 2 years on this one and he got the used one from E-bay so who knows what we will find once I install it. I'll try to keep things posted as to what happens. By the way he got this 450 for $300 and it came with a back blade and loader. I then fixed it up and painted it up so it looks good but the hyds don't work well yet, maybe soon they will

Well he got a bargain, I guess. I paid $2000 for mine, little rust, near new engine, new rear rubber, no smoke, poor brakes, strong TA, two point and it sounds sweet. Crappy paint job. I have a Farmhand 11C loader mounted with 8 foot bucket, planning to use it around acerage for snow removal and tree clearing but it is useless as it is. Hate to put $1000 into the hydraulics then have my estate hand it off to somebody who gets it for half!! Oh well, not first mistake! I appreciate being kept abrest of your work. Thanks. Guess I'll be calling the Case/IH dealer tomorrow to see if they have them on hand. I prefer to use the correct gasket when I can. I already know I get the fun of takeing the old pump off and then putting on the new/used one for him.

There are gaskets in both places. A little smear of silicone sealant will work just fine as well. No pressure on them, just a little splash of oil from the timing gears.

Old you are correct there will be one between the pump and motor and one between the pump and distributor.
