Hello every body, I hope spring is treating everyone well. I'm begining the processes of Restoring my 1952 Super M and I need some advice on the exhaust Manifold. The manifold's pipe broke off and was obvosly welded before but with a very poor weld that didn't fix the problem. I can do some welding and brazing and was wondring if it is worth it to take the manifold off and re-weld the pipe on . Should I takle the problem my self or buy a new manifold? Thanks for any help -David Goode Coggon, IA

Have seen several that pipe had been welded and none of them held. I do not know anything about welding but I think it is next to impossible to weld or braze the stel pipes to the cast manifld. Worked with man 20 or so years ago that could weld cracked manifolds as good as new though and a lot of good welders can not do that.

Only you can decide what you want for your tractor. Personally, I've never liked welded pipes in the manifold. A new one isn't all that expensive, and my choice would be to put a new one on it.
