Today after we had the easter dinner i had nothing better to do and was eager to get it running. So i went out there put new points and condencer in that i took out of a parts tractor hoping that they worked put them in and gave it a try. Sure thing it started right up on gas i left it run for about 10 min then switched it. It switched to Diesel easy. I left it idle for a while then reved it up and there was a mis like the guy said who i bought it from he said he took it to the machanic and they said the injectors need to be cleaned. I will go and get them tested one of these days. Then i checked to see if the canester towards the rear end was full yet and it wasnt. What could be the problem?

After overhauling my Farmall MD and running it for a while it developed a slight miss under light load. In talking to the injector pump rebuilder, he suggested I adjust the timing. By retiming the injector pump I was able to totally eliminate the slight miss. Roger

Before you go and spend a bunch of money on cleaning the injectors, go to your local TSC and get a RED jug of "Diesel 9.1.1." Use at least the maximum dosage in a tank of fuel, take the tractor out and RUN it. The stuff is amazing.

Thats the stuff supposed to clear up waxed fuel isn't it?

I've had good luck with Diesel Kleen which comes in a grey bottle. I usually use about double the instruction's dose. I also use it to fill the fuel filter on my diesel car when I change filters, makes starting alot easier.

Please tell me you weren't running the motor on Diesel with the filter still missing! LOL!

If there is not adequate fuel flow to bleed what you call the cannister (I forget what IH calls them), this could easily cause the miss you describe.

Restore the fuel flow to normal before you go any further. This is an obvious problem that needs to be addressed.

Just my humble opinion. Others' ideas may vary.

On our Super WD6 the head was cracked between the valves the last time it started missing. If cleaning that injector doesn't work you should pull the head. It must have been almost out of gas after 10 minutes?
