Might want to check your S.N. Back in the '60's we had a very early 303 (only 4 digits in S.N.) and I want to think it had a BD220 cid engine in it. I do know that when we needed parts we needed the S.N. as there were so many changes and upgrades. How long have you had your 303? Armand

You may be correct in the change from BD-220 to C-221. I thought it was during the 101 production run but it may have been during the 303s.

Easiest way tell the difference is to look at the governor. BD-220 came out the side of the front cover, C-221 mounts in the back of the front cover.

I know there was at least one 303 with a BD 220 in it because I put it there. Mine threw the flat belt and it got wedged in the pulley housing. Flattened the rear main bearing and twisted the block.
