I went and looked at the SMTA Diesel and the Switching from gas to diesel lever was broken off. I was woundering where to get another one? Would there be anything to look out for considering that the lever is broken off? Anybody got a lever that they would sell or know where to buy one? They guy wants $3500 for the SMTA Diesel, it has brand new mismatched rears, junk fronts, no cracks no welds anywhere on the tractor, And the T/A is GOOD. They guy said that it has been sitting for a couple of years. He said that before when he was using it started to miss. So he took it into the machinic and he said that the injectors just needed cleaning, but he didnt want to pay for cleaning so he just parked it. It starts good and switches good but doesnt run good on diesel. If i get it i will have it completely restored like my others. Does anybody think that it is worth 3500 with it missing on diesel? I think so, but i am cerious on what other people have to say first.

Thanks for the Help

RustyFarmall i talked to the machinic, did some futher research and found out that they are worth a heck of alot more than 3500, I know i got a heck of a deal. I'm not sure on where you live but by my understanding old farmalls must go pretty cheap down yer way.

Good examples do not go cheap. We just don't like them very much when the rear tires are new but don't match. It tells us that the previous owner just wasn't too picky, and then we wonder what else might be wrong that isn't so readily visible.

I know that those tractors are hard to find, but for $3500 I would want it running good and I would want the rear tires to match. I'd be less concerned about the broken lever.

As-is, it would bring $5000 on eBay.
