I have a front end loader on my 350 utility. It raises and lowers very slowly. The 3 point raises and lowers just right. I was wondering if the hydralic pump on the tractor is just not big enough for the large cylinders on the loader. Any ideas ?

invest in a pressure gage for hydraulics and see exactly what the problem is, I would agree it could be a bad control valve.

greg, i tried different cylinders on my new idea loader after the originals got bent. originals were about 3 1/2" OD and a 2" rod. new ones were about 5" OD with a 1 1/2" rod. new ones were sooo slow. i found some like the originals and replaced the 5" cyls. works fine now. years ago, dad had a loader on his 300 utility that had cylinders with a narrow bore with a larger rod so it didn't need to move so much oil to lift. could this be the problem on your 350?

My cylinder measures 3.25 and the rod is 2.25. The bucket which has a single cylinder is the same measurement is just as slow. I guess it's something I'll have to live with.

Greg, the stock pump on my 300u lifts my loader fine. It's got 43" long lift cylinders with probably a 30-36 stroke and appear to be 3" bores.
The 300 and I believe 350u were available with 3 different pumps from the factory. Not sure what mine is.

Not the fastest I've seen, but for its age, its got the speed and definitely has the power.

I cant imagine a weak pump would have less flow without conseqential less power. Does it still lift properly? If so, there might be a restriction in the system some where.

Is it possible that the control valve is restricted somehow or maybe a crimped line?

If they are 4" cylinders or bigger they will go slow.
