When I was tearing the engine down, there was a piece of pipe screwed into the block and pointed down towards the pan. As I recall, it is just forward of the rear main inside the pan compartment. The pipe was about 3/8 inch in diameter. I broke it off. I have misplaced that pipe. I thought there was one in the other block I have but it has rusted off and is gone. MY QUESTION IS, does anyone have the pan off of an H motor at the moment and can give me the length of the pipe so I can replace it.

I did the same trick! Found that the rigid tube from the grease gun, the one you never use when you put a flexi pipe on, screwed straght in.

Tom --- go to your IHC dealer parts dept or a parts book and look the part up...it should give the size and length in there.....

Tom I had the same problem and had to make a new one for mine. I can't remember how long the pipe is but it came within 3/4 to a 1/2 inch of the pan, it is 1/8" pipe. It does not point straight down but points slightly forward. If you lay the pan on the engine and make the pipe so it has 1/2" to 3/4" clear above the pan it will work fine. It is the drain back to pan for filtered oil. I am in Sierra Vista AZ. and not at home in KS. or I would go find the old pipe and measure it for you. Dave

Tom: The pipe points slightly to the rear of the engine. Sorry about that. Dave
