we pulled this one out of a 10-20 industrial.what do you all think happened? no cracks in the block,rod or sleeve. some kind of explosion. wonder if it was running when that happened.

If only one, it is probable that freezing water on a piston fully down pushed it in multiple stages, after several months/years, till it was doubled up. freezing water will not be denied by physical restraint. JimN

I have a rod from an A bent in almost the same fashion. I don"t have any idea how it happened. I wouldn"t think water freezing in a cylinder would have that much force. Could the wrist pin have locked up?
