Ive found a Smtad. Its definitly a major project, all thats there is the rearend (minus the pto),brakes, TA handle, clutch housing, hydralic tank, engine (minus top end, distributer, and hyd pump),frame rails, upper and lower bolester, brake and clutch levers. It does have the original tag and all the major cast numbers I looked at are Z coded. Comes with extra Z code block and tag.Its been sitting outside for 15 years.I know that the parts that are missing are hard to find, and the deisels are expensive to work on, I already have a MD And a Super MD. Guy wants $850. I want a SMTAD for my collection and I dont care if I get it finished for several years. And the few I have seen sell or for sale are very expensive and they where far from perfect. Any thoughts? I kinda hate to see it sit there and rust away.

I would do it in a heart beat. The potential is a nice tractor with resale value above almost all other letter Farmalls. JimN

Price seems pretty steep for what's basically a parts tractor. But again, just like in the world of collector cars, what it "used to be" ups the value quite a bit. Seems like most all the important parts are there, the rest could be collected off of not so rare donor tractors and viola, you'd have a fairly good SMTAD.

Guess it boils down to, like anything, how bad you want it and what you're willing to pay.
