My tractor has 18.4 x 38 on it. The duals that were bought for me are 20.4 x 38. Are these the same height? Will they work on my tractor? What benefits will I get from the duels. Will this put more stress on the rearend and transmission? Thanks, Ricky

Rick: You certainly don't want those 20.8 on the outside. It will work fine with 20.8 on inside and 18.4 on the outside. I would prefer same size inner and outer but you may as well wear out what you have. You might try and add, just never know who may be wanting to trade some tires.

I think if you look through 1066 manual, it will advise you not to use 3 lowest gears for maximum drawbar pull. Also don't load that tractor with excessive weight while using duals. That rear end does have a limit.

I bought a new 1066 with tires loaded and wheel weights. My complaint that first year, doing tillage the tractor would leave huge wheel tracks that were not very nice to plant on. The tractor did not have the kind of traction I expected. When the tractor was one year old, I dumped the chloride, took off the wheel weights. I then added duals giving two sets of 20.8 tires. That tractor actually pulled the cultivator easier and no more of those damn wheel tracks.
