My friend started his 230 today and it shot antifreeze out the exhaust. He ran the tractor 2 weeks ago, and all was fine. He said it never got hot. Tractor is keep under a shed, What could be his problem?.... Blown head gasket?... sleeve went bad?... This tractor is all orginal.

Take off the manifold and you will probably find a crack in the head as it has rusted thru. By looking at the exhaust ports you should see where the fluid is coming from.

I would put a radiator pressure tester on the radiator, then pump it to the Pounds specified on the cap (usually around 6). Then pull the spark plugs and let it sit for 2 hours, or until the pressure drops to 1/2 of initial #. Then With the coil spark wire grounded, crank the engine while watching the plug holes. Antifreeze will come out of one most likely. You will then know where to look for problems when taking it apart. Cracked heads, leaking head gasket are the most likely. Good luck JimN
