I have a 1938 F-20 with cult. and power lift that I was wondering if anyone can help me with the model letter or #. Also the color(s). I restored the tractor about 4 years ago and now I'd like to do the cultivator.

My son bought one several years ago for his F-20, and it is tore apart and in my garage for painting also. I have a books here for both the 221G and the 229 ciltivators. The 229 has most of the shovels on the front gangs, with just one behind each rear wheel, and the 221 has one shovel each side of the row in fromt with the rest in back. Hope this helps. When I was a tenager dad had the F-20 my sonnow has with a 221 cultivator and hand lift. Was a lot of lifting as he wire checked his corn, 120 rod row and 20 rods wide!

Mixman, from 1936 to 1942 IH made a 221G, It was the popular one in our area, the other number was the 229,both models were steerable type.Been several years ago but I think our's was blue, surely someone will know for sure, I do remember that pto driven lift was heavy and hard to put on,
