The steering joint is worn to the point on my H that it will not get tight even with a new key. I have put a lot of pressure on the bolt that goes through the joint. Do any of you know a solution short of welding it or replacing one or both pieces? I thought about drilling through the joint and shaft and using a bolt. Need a good solution. Thanks

They have epoxies that are formulated for keyway repair. Belzona is one mfg but I don't think they have consumer packs. I'd google on "keyway epoxy". or something similar. You could also call your local bearing house.

You will have to figure out a way to completly fill the the areas that have lost metal and you should be all set.

I would use the next fatter Key. Use a dremel with a disk wheel and carefully enlarge the shaft notch, then use a file to widen the way in the joint. It needs to be a tight fit to prevent wear. A hardened tapered pin would work, but a special reamer is needed. Bolting might not be as tight as a taper pin. JimN
