The H I have has a dipstip in the block. I'm guessing this block is from another model. Which models started having dipstips? Thanks.

Jfavor It is after market add on there were no dipsticks on Hs from factory, but could be added. There were no dip sticks until the 00 series on farm tractors. It should have pet cocks on oil pan if it has original pan on it.

It's SonnyDay, or SunnyDey, again. More fun and games with this chap who discovers every rare farmall ever made. Yeah, right!

Mike: My guess is the H found a dip stick, when Sonny found the H.

The blocks have boss for dipstick cast in it is just a matter of drilling them this was often done. If block is from combine or stationary engine it should have boss for fuel pumo with a cover held on by 2 bolts on left side.

DipSTICK, maybe?

Power unit engines had dipsticks. I think they started putting dipsticks in the '50 series tractors.

Look the engine over. You should be able to find its displacement cast into the block, "C1XX", the date code in the format, "11.22.X", a serial stamped into a machined flat spot on the block.

Did the H get the dipstick early or something? We had a 52 Farmall M and a 1951 McCormick W6 and neither one ever had a dipstick. Both used the drain cocks.
