Thanks to everyone who has helped me with rebuilding my Farmall H 2-way Remote Control valve ( the valve that fits on the Lift-All filler pipe to make an H able to work 2 way cylinders). I am ready to assemble it and am wondering, where to lube it inside? I was going to use assembly lube on the O-ring, spool and spool bore. Should I do more? Do I lube or grease where the spool contacts the lever that moves it? Oil the spring? I have about .016 movement between the lever pivot and housing halfs. Someone mentioned .010" is the max allowed. Is my only option to get a new lever or have mine turned down and a bushing made or have it built up with weld and then turned down? I am afraid of getting dirt into the spool. At the same time, I would think that IH would have put seals there to keep dirt out if that was a concern. Could someone who has had experience with this remote control valve help me out. There is no service manual available. Thanks!!!

I covered everything with oil on mine. The problem is, as you mentioned, water and dirt runs right into the housing with no difficulty through the hole by the rod. That is why ours was rusted tight in the first place. I am thinking of trying to just put some silicone in there for it to ride on. It would at least just take up space and keep the water out. The gap for the control lever doesn't affect the operation of the valve, it just makes it hard to keep clean. All I will say is that if the lever works fine now and it hasn't been disassembled recently, I wouldn't touch it. Getting the little fork off of that shaft will result in breaking something if it is in the same shape as ours was!!
