I have a 450 and the outside/rear hydraulics only has one way [up] no down pressure. It doesn"t matter which way you have the valve control on the main block [the shaft that is about 1" dia. with the flats on it for a wrench] any Ideas what could be wrong? How hard to fix? Thanks

The operators manual cover this issue some. If you have never had double action, it could be that the control bushing is set to 'single action'. I think it sticking out of the hood right by the leavers. Turn that to the right.

Sounds to me like there is a stuck flow control valve. On the side of batterey box there is a box that the hoseses are hooked to< I suspect that your trouble is in that. I had one on my 350 done the same thing 8 or 9 years ago. I use it to pull a two row trailing tobacco setter, I got to end of field raised it up and it would not go back down. I did not fix that one as I had one from another parts tractor. I switched them and mine has worked every since. I think the book calls it a check valve. I may have another if you find that is the problem.

Consider plumbing the hoses up to the remote that works?

This tractor does not have a fasthitch on it, just a straight drawbar. The rear port usally used for the cylinder on the fasthitch is the one in question. Right now the outside lever is set up and used for a rear remote. I need to use it for a V rake and it will not fold the rake out but it will retact the rake back into the transport/lifted position, or if you switch the hoses, its vice versa. I have hooked this rake up to my New Holland TN75 and the rake folds out and retacts the way it should. So its in the hydraulic block itself. The second/middle lever has preasure in both up and down positions.

Does the cylinder retract or does it not move?Theirs a pin on the bottom of the cylinder if re moved it will not have down pressure.
