3 point hitch not picking up, When I bought the tractor the guy told me that if it ever stopped working the that there was a pin that comes out of the back inside the back plate. Now I have never been into this section and not sure what plate to take off (there are two plates) Does this sound right??

If you have a clue about this. Please let me know a "quick how to" to help me out,
Thanks Ron

As a quick first check to see if the hitch works, move the remote control valve levers without a cylinder attached. If putting the system on high (relief) pressure allows the hitch to work, the unloader valve is stuck.

There is a little pin that can come out of the linkage. I think it is on the draft control if I remember right.

The cover you want to remove is the upper link bracket, Held on with six 5/8" bolts located right above the PTO. The linkage will be on the right side. Probably need someone to move the levers as you watch through the hole.

If its the pin I'm thinking of its not a quick fix.

Is it the pin that holds the lift ram in place to the rock shaft?

This is a small pin and breaks easy if you lift the arms over the height that cylinder is designed to lift them.

Say you back over a pile of dirt with a blade on the 3pt and the pile is high enough to push the 3pt arms up higher than they were meant to go. It will break the 5/16ths pin that holds ram in the socket.

The ram then falls out of the socket when the pin is broke.

Or was he referring to a pin in the lever linkage?

Gary

He was saying it was a quick fix,..

Plus I wasn't using the 3pt when it supposable went out. So it must be the other pin you are talking about.... Can you please tell me more about this pin.
Thank you very much for your reply.
Ron

Look under the cab from the rear on the right side.

Look at the control linkages and see if you see anything unhooked above the rear end housing.

It would help to have someone move the lever while you watch.

If it is unhooked inside the rearend I'm not familiar with the linkage to help you out.

But maybe someone else can here.

Thanks Gary, The linkage is connected and looks good. I must say tho..... the lever does fell a little easier then normal, But that might just be my imagination.... not sure.
Thanks Ron

The remotes work fine. I have been using a dirt bucket for the past month. All else works fine. Just the 3pt will not pick up. Thanks Ron
