The kit was offered by IH way back when so the logical place to check would be a CaseIH dealer.

Think about it for a second, though... This is an "update kit" for a 40+ year old tractor. Do you really think it's still available?

Go with vet's suggestion and just fix what you have. They work pretty well when put back to new condition.

Save your money and use factory parts , like about 95% of the stuff that peopel try and sell it ain't worthe the money . Look over your shift linkage see what all is wore out and fix like so . I have fixed more then i can remember and all were done with out a bunch of hassel some new headed pins maybe a new shifter cam a shift lever a couple half moon keys rebush the top cover and some as i call them CUB CADET Tie rod ends do a complet clutch linkage adjustment and they shift with two fingers.

I did all that on my 706 and it made a world of difference. Now if I could only change the arraingement of having to go through low range to get from high to Reverse.

You could just go to your local salvage yard and get the shift levers, quadrant, linkage, and trans top cover from a 56 series tractor and install them and your good to go.

You'll need 756-specific parts to convert a 706. I learned that the hard way, I bought the entire shift linkage off of a 766 to convert our 706. Found out that 706 and 756 are shorter than the rest of the 06, 26, 56, and 66 series. The vertical linkages were too long, and you also need to switch out the right steering support casting, which was also too tall. I was able to have the vertical linkages modified, and I found the steering support for a 756 in a junk yard. You can use parts from any 26, 56, or 66 series gear drive (aside from the 756 and 1566, of course) to convert a 806 or 1206.
