Rod Bearing Width Question

Still working on the C113 rebuild with the TISCO kit (ref the wrist pin bushing dilema in the forum). The rod bearings they sent are narrower than the originals by .143.
The original bearings were 35578-DA and are 1.190 wide.
The replacements are 1.047 wide and they located the locking tang such that they would be centered in the rod if I use them.
I contacted TISCO to see if this was another case of the replacement bearings belonging to a newer s/n and they assured me all use the narrower bearing now.
Has anyone heard of this, or should I see if the dealer has the original width bearing ?? thanks

They will work just fine as the 113 engine with small hp and rpms wont never know the difference.

Take a rod and your bearings to your local auto machine shop and ask their opinion. They may know if there's been a modification made on the new inserts. Hal

I bought parts to rebuild a SC and the local IH dealer did not have undersize (oversize ?) bearing for a -0.020" reground crank. They supplied Clevite bearings from TISCO.

For as little power as these motors make, they should be fine.

This is normal. I think the wide have been replaced by the narrow. I don't think you will find the wide ones anymore.
