Can someone tell me what my options are for a cold weather engine heater on my super c.I was thinking of installing an inline heater on the bottom radiator hose but I dont think there is enough room. Are there any alternatives, that are not too complicated for a novice???

I used a magnetic pan heater on my Super C this winter, but you need to leave it on all night to warm the oil.I`ve also switched to 10w-30 for winter. Also don`t forget to push in the clutch as the drag of the gear oil in the trans really slows her down.

Just get your starting system in shape and your engine will start down to 15 below easy and if it is that cold you wont be outside anyway.

gene: I was thinking the same thing. If I had a dollar for every time I wished an old 6 volt Farmall gasser wouldn't start, and it did. I could retire in luxury, just on those dollars. Properly tuned, battery and cables in good condition, these old gassers are good for -40. I'll tell you, if you can stand colder than that on an open tractor, "your nuts". I once drove a Farmall 300 close to a mile at -40, I think my dad prayed that one wasn't going to start that morning.

I dont understand why you need that on a Super C. We have lots of old gas farmall's and they start good in any temp. I can hand crank both of My Cs and they will start below 0. When I was a kid my dad bought a new deisel and in real cold weather we would have to pull it with the C to get it started, we didnt have a block heater in the deisel. So it was a chore to start it in cold weather.

Get a tank heater in my mind there the best. A good 45 minutes your tractor will think it is a summer day.

You could also try a magnetic heater on the oil pan. I have one although I never need to use it. I've always find mine will start just fine on six volt no matter how cold it becomes. Hope this helps, tractorsam

See if you can get a frost plug heater for it. Simple and they work better that the radiator hose heater. They also used to have a head bolt heater for some.

Super C doesn't have frost plugs.

Yes they do, but they are behind the flywheel.
