Here is what I made to remove pulley. I cut the 3 inch hole in the 3/4 plate with a hole saw on drill press and used bar oil to keep hole saw from getting hot. Then cut out slot with metel cutting bandsaw.

I used a porta power, but you can find a hydraulic jack that will work laying on it's side.

Friend used mine and had to use 35 ton jack to remove his pulley.

PS... you will notice that the upper lefthand bolt hole and the lower right hand bolt hole (that hold to bolster on front on engine) make a straight line diagonaly across the center of the crankshaft. This is where I use the longer tubing and 5/8 althread to press the pulley back on to the crankshaft with porta power.HTH

Have fun..

You might as well go ahead and ask how to get it back on while you're at it. That's a problem as well.

To reinstall put the pulley in an oven and heat it to 250 degrees. Use heavy gloves to handle it. Hal

Here's sketch for the A,B and C tractor. You may need to change the hole pattern for your pulley. Hal

Make sure you dont have a set screw or a double set screw holding it on. I had that problem with an AC and it cost me 80 bucks not knowing the the pully had a double set screw.

If you can use a puller like the Cub puller, it will remove it. Here's a picture. Hal
PS: I would still use the heat.

The IT tech manual shows the procedure for the A. It is identical to what is shown for the cub. It is important to make sure that there is a big clamp or something solid behind the pulley. If you put the puller jaws right on the pulley rim, you can eaily crack the pulley. You might have to make up something from some steel bar stock and grip that with the puller. That, and lots of heat are what are required to remove it.

Well you have to put a bearing splitter behind it an use a porter power ram with a long slim shaft that goes back through that hole.Just like pulling a bearing off a shaft.some times they are tight at the start.

It looks very rusty, I would use an acetylene/oxygen torch on that hub and heat it. Be careful pulling on the outer edges of the pulley, you may break the pulley. Take your time
that heat will free it. Hal

If you do heat the hub and you can reach any part of the shaft, rub a small candle on the hub-shaft interface while it's still warm enough to melt the wax. The wax will flow/wick between the hub and shaft, and it can make a BIG difference.

Don't be shy about pouring wax into any set screw holes, either.
