I am getting ready to hook up my new-to-me hydra swing to my 1066 and make sure it is all working before hay season. I have a book and it shows a drawbar hitch extension that bolts to the existing tractor drawbar and was wandering if anybody out there has one and if it is necessary. In reading the book, it shows the existing tractor drawbar is within spec. for vertical distance from drawbar to center of PTO shaft and horizontal distance from hitch pin hole to end of PTO shaft. Only thing I can figure is that there is necessity for clearance so that pump/hoses will not strike gooseneck of hydra swing.
If someone has one of these, what is the width, length, and thickness of the extension.
Thanks

I have a 1014, but its buried under the snow right now. You do need the extension otherwise the pump and hoses do hit the gooseneck. A couple of other regulars have them. Maybe one will chime in soon.

Sir,
How do you like the 1014. Mine is actually a 1014+2. Anything in particular that I need to watch for or weak spots? I have never owned or run one of these so I am going to learn fast.

I like mine a lot. Mine is not the +2, which uses two knives and a drive on each side. Mine has the single 14' knife. I had a pretty steep learning curve with mine last year, but after I got it going, everything went reasonably well. Best advise I got was here and it was to have the cutting components in tip top shape. I was having trouble plugging the crimper because it was bunch feeding on the auger. The real problem was poor sections not cutting hay creating the bunches.

Try posting on the Implement Alley forum. Don in Wisc has the same model as you.

John.
