Got the beast running today, after draining the oil, tranny, rear end and hydralics.(probably 3 gallons of water) New plugs cap and wires and fresh gas. Carb is rusted bad, choke won't move, floats stuck. Hydralic pump is making an awful high/low whinning noise. I only had three gallons of hydralic fluid with me. I have a IT manual for it and a 460 rowcrop op manual but they are different or vague. I can only find one fill plug on top of the tranny, to the left of the shifter (about a 1 1/4 inch pipe plug. Can anyone tell me if that filler fills the rear end, hydralics and tranny or are there more I am not seeing? Thanks in advance G

Gary: In the case of a 460 filter, fill to level, capacity, etc. will be same for both Farmall and Utility. Fill to level plug should be near clutch pedal.

Those filters make it quite sensitive with water and dirt contaminated oil. Up until 40-60 sreies IH always used a screen for hydraulic oil, these have a paper filter. They are also quite sensitive to low oil. Once you get those two corrected, you will notice quite a difference.

for the hydraulic pump, check the filter/screen. mine was doing that for the longest and i tried everything before pulling the cover and addressing the filter. You need to do this asap, as its not good on the pump

Yep I ran into the same problem with our 460 row crop. Loader wouldn't move. Fluid was full. I replaced the filter and it worked fine. Thats next on the list after I get the thing full of fluid. I guess If i get 13 gallons of fluid into that one filler it must be the only one LOL
