a few B questions

Ibought a "B" farmall, Idont know where the serial number would be,so Im wondering if there is another way of knowing the year of the tractor? also are all these positive ground? Also idont know how magnetos work, can i tell if it still works?
Any help would be appreciated THANKS

There is a # under #1plug should start with FAB-----. Remove a wire from the plug and hook another plug to the end grounding it is a good way to see if you have spark.

the b is a little hard to find the tag. standing behind the tractor, the serialnumber plate is located on the left seat bracket, inside down low., its hard to find, its about the size of a business card.

It's probably positive ground if it's still 6 volts. If it has been converted to 12 volts with an alternator it's probably negative grounded. You can get these that are positve grounded.

If the tractor starts you know the mag is working. To check your mag to see if it's firing
pull the coil wire from the cap and hold it within
1/8-1/4" of good ground on the engine while somone
cranks over the engine. Use insulated pliers. If the engine starts and runs ok, I wouldn't worry about the mag. Hal
