I have an International model 434 tractor. I'am not sure of the year I think it is mid 1960's. It was working fine when I parked it in the shed two days ago. Today I went to use it,the tractor started fine but when I let the clutch out it stalled even in neutral. I can move the gear shift to all the gears but the tractor stalls as soon as I release the clutch. Also the hi-low range lever will not move.Any ideas. Thank you

Hi Stan, is it cold where you live?
Could it be ICE in the transmission?

Hi Jim,it can get very cold where I live.It was minus 27-C when my tractor stopped working and has been cold ever since. It did warm up yesterday and today to plus 10-C and I tried the tractor and it is working great. It had to be ice in the trans.like you said . I just wanted to say thank you very much for your help. Stan

Stan: Is that high-low lever in high, low or somewhere in between. It sounds as though your problem may be in that high-low shifter, thus it might not be a bad idea to give details on just where that shift lever is.

Hi Hugh, The hi-low range lever is in the lo-range position now and will not go into the hi-range position. Stan

Stan: Jim has a question, may be a bit more important than my question. The ice he speaks of my well be in the high-low gear box.
