hytran in rear end

I have a farmall 300,I am going to change the fluids, is it ok to use hytran in the rear? I know that is what goes in where the t.a. is at. Thanks

Yes hytran is a good idea. It lets the torque rollers work better. Buuuut, don't be surprised if you have alot of oil leaks from brake shafts and axle shafts. And you may develop some weird noises from the gears and bearings in the rear end, as these were meant to run in heavy gear oil. Just my experiences. Good Luck!!!

CaseIH recomends hy-tran in all letter series tractors.

Yes use HY-TRAN or equivelent as Wardner said Them TAs dont like gear oil.

I'd put in what the book/CaseIH parts guy recommends. I don't think the newer hytran is whats needed in these older tractors. The hundred series tractors don't pull hydraulic oil from the transmission like the newer ones do, do they?

Ya, but.... the TA needs it and the TA cavity is connected to the rear frame via circulation ports. You can't fill one without filling the other. Get ten gallons and fill from the hole near the shifter.
