The fluid level is low in my Touch-Control reservoir for my '48 Farmall Super A. The operators manual says that the level should be within 1/2" of the bottom of the filler opening, mine is about 1 1/4". The capacity of the reservoir is 6 3/4 US pts. What type of fluid should I put in the Touch-Control reservoir and do I need to flush out the reservoir with the new fluid before filling? Standard no foam, non detergent hydraulic oil?

In addition to what CNKS allready suggested, I would also remove the screen filter and clean before refilling !

Good idea to drain it and replace with Case-IH HyTran or an oil that meets HyTran specs. The original touch control used SAE 10W before touch control fluid appeared. HyTran replaced touch control fluid. It would probably help to get the water out if you drain, replace, run, drain and replace again -- will take twice as much oil, though.
