At last, after hundreds of hours of cleaning, blasting, fixing, finding and rebuilding I have started to shoot red paint. By June I should have the chassis together. Just curious, what's everyone's favorite / or least favorite part of a restoration. What I enjoy the most is a toss up between the rebuilding (engine overhaul etc.) and finishing details like wiring harnesses, decals and the like.

least favorite would be when somebody criticizes your work or the way it " should" have been done.some people strive for originality while others are after a finished product that will serve them well as a work horse. the owner is the only one who should second guess the work that was done, if he or she is happy with it that is all that really matters. most favorite is seeing the older folks who worked with one remember how well a particular model served them. am really looking forward to seeing your finished Super. if you get by Westfield again look me up, Pat in Wis

Hi Pat, Actually there is a good chance that the Super H wlll be "living" right down the road from you at my friend's place in Adams. I agree with you 100% on the criticism part of it all. I say "to each his own" as to how much or how little a guy wants to do. I've got a couple of trips planned up your way in the next few months. I will definitely stop by, I need to talk you out of one of your steel belt pulleys :-)

be glad to have you stop by, I'm sure we can work something out on a pulley. Would be nice to have another super H in the neighborhood. Pat

My least favorite is waiting on parts to get here. I try and order in advance but then you always need that one part that you didnt plan on and it holds everything up. One other thing is when the new gaskets leak just like the old one did.

Favorite is when your putting it all together and its all working out just like you wanted. Plus I like to talk to the old men about the tractor, you can see the sparkle in their eyes.

my favorite moment is when that old beast has its last bolt put back in place and its time to fire up the engine. the wife, "Lovey", runs out to the shop and comes in a smiling, just shaking her head. the neighbor was here when the last two tractors were hauled in and he swore they would never run again as he looked at thier condition,.and as fast as he said it,lovey told him that i could get an 80 year old women running again ! never did ask her what she meant by that, hhhmmmmm ???

So far my least favorite part is waiting to start. My second least favorite is spending money.

Those are the only two things I have done thus far.
