Now,,, I have to drian the oil from the sump cause there hyd fluid in it, and then see if the rear seal is bad by the clutch,
put a return line from the hytd tank to the front,
so it will circulate,
then fill the sump with oil if it,s ok?
then see if im getting spark from a good connection, then try to start it, and let it warm up,
I took that silly power steering pump off the side and now , at least it look,s good,
I need a drag link as the old one had a hose connection in it for that dumb power steering pump and that stupid steering cylinder on right side, arghhhh,
God O mighty,
If I can just get this thing to where it will run ok ,
then ill dive into redoing it and paint and detail it,
I need spindle,s too as someone welded metal to them to connect the drag link and the steering cylinder to them to make it easier to drive with that loader on it,
but now with no loader on it , I have to undo all this junk, and get the right part,s which are becoming hard to find like a good steering gear,
are spindle,s for the M, the same as standard,s?
I hope so, as I will be alot easier to find stuff for an M than a W-6 i think,

Kirk,

Just sent you an e-mail. I'll take the power steering parts if you're interested in getting rid of them. I've also posted my e-mail here if you didn't get the one I sent via this website.

Thanks,

Keith

If you got hydraulic oil in your crankcase, it is almost guaranteed that you will need to have the hydraulic pump seals replaced. If you don't, the new oil will get contaminated in the same way. To replace or even see the rear main oil seal it is necessary to remove the engine from the tractor, which requires removing the gas tank, air cleaner, and top cover of the clutch housing. It is not an easy task. I believe the spindle is different for a Farmall M and a W6. I do not believe the drag link or the gear are available from the dealer either.

Just post the pictures on the website in the parts and pieces area of the picture galleries and then put them into your post by right clicking on the picture, copying its address and then typing the following in your post (do it once for each picture):

"img src=picture address here" but replace the "" with<>. I have been unable to access my e-mail for a while now, and it looks like it won't change in the future.
