Folks, I just brought home my first off-set Farmall (1974 140 with FastHitch). I've got a couple of '50s era Farmalls (SC and 230). Since this is my first off-set, I'm having trouble finding the transmission fluid check "thingy" (easy to find on the FC type tractors). Also is there a way to check the gear oil level in the final drives without dropping the lower cover (which you will then necessarily find empty...). I've been thru the manual but can't locate these... Any help would be appreciated. BobG in VA

Bob: Transmission fill to level plug is directly below front of left fender, usually right behind the brake activating rod. Final drives fill hole and fill to level hole are the same hole. They are on inside of final drive, a plug in between holes that certain implements bolt to.

Pay close attention to greasing distributor drive, some folks tend to neglect this.
