There wre various versions of the 340. There are the utility, rowcrop, and industrial like the others said. Also there is a highcrop, and various versions of it as a crawler/bulldozer. There may have been an orchard, but i am not certain about that one. The picture is the 340 utility that we use around our small hobby farm. They are a really nice tractor, ours has handled everything that we have ever thrown at it.

Ida Red, back again. You can look at some IH 340 images by looking on the left side of this web page under "Galleries" and clicking on the "Tractor Photos" link. Once there, you can type in the tractor(s) you would like to view and enjoy/drool. You are smart [being you are interested in the IH 340"s] and maybe already are aware of this great asset to the board. Enjoy!

Ida Red, If you click on the link below, you will find, after scrolling down, my posts on this site. You can click on the topics and from there click for the other replies and get some great information from good folks on this board. I have asked "many a question" regarding the IH 340 tractors. There you can read what many have posted. To much to list here but, topics include parts/tires/hp/gauges...Are you lookin" ta buy?? If so, I think you will enjoy the tractor depending on yours needs. It is always needs, not just a toy, as some folks [estrogen factories for some collectors-doesn"t apply to me]. Some may call it play, but it is at least good exercise for the tractor! Good luck and keep us posted!

There is a Farmall, a Utility, and I think an Industrial, which is pretty much a utility.

The differences between the Farmall and utility are small. Farmalls look like a Utility with bigger rear tires, and a different front axle.

Row crop and utility for sure -- there may be other variants, such as high clearance, not sure.
