I am stumped. I took the cover off. Just have the round shoe device on there and I am pulling with all the force in the world and the dang thing will not pull free.

I was pulling so hard the brake band pulled off and twisted and the pads fell out.

All that is holding it on is a peg in the hole, right? I have removed these before and it is just the peg in the hole, but this is acting as if there is a fastener on the inside of the tranny.

What is the deal?

Kfox is on it! You may have to get a big pry bar in there against the pin and hammer it, I spent most of a day getting one off, soaked it, heated it and the pry bar with tapered end and sledge finally forced it out. Clean the hole up good, put anti sieze in and a new brass bushing. It is rust that has welded it in so tight

Its rusted in the side of the transmission housing. BTDT penetrating oil and lots of tapping with a small hammer. There should be a brass bushing in the side of the tranny, but mine were almost gone. Probably never changed. ken
