Actually some Horsepower trading that is. Found a guy who has a Farmall Cub with sickle mower that I think needs to come here and he grew up on Ford 8 N. So I looked around the neighbors and put the word out I was in the market for an 8N and low and behold one did appear. Bought it and am loaded to take off 100 miles south to try to make a trade. In the short time I had the Ford on my trailer and hauled to car wash and a few trips around town, the buzz on the streets is that I have lost my mind and bought a Ford. How am I gonna try to redeem myself in the I.H. circle? Man I make life rough on myself. Have a good one and hope you guys midwest and east get some reprieve from winter. Migraine

We all need painted plywood cutouts of various IH production to wire to the sides of the off brand we sometimes find ourselves dragging around. :-) JimN

That's where one of those heavy duty truck tarps come in handy. When I haul a non IH, it's covered. Keeps those that "Wonder" guessing! Good luck on the "HP trading" and glad to hear you are feeling better.

Well now, first off, "...am loaded" so you be sure to do your best and keep it between the ditches! Now the redeeming part: tradin" a Ford 8N, which has much less red for an all red "un should take care of it. If not, pull into the car wash again, taking a picture. Once you get the Farmall Cub on the trailer, take a picture on the "clean" side of the car wash. Anyone "on the street" thinkin" ya lost your mind can have a "look-see". That should have them walking/wondering off mutterin" to themselves "...how"d he do that???" Wish I could pull something off that is that much fun - I don"t have that kind of luck. Good luck, share some pictures, enlighten us. Enjoy your day, as if you aren"t going to :^)

Well got back home with the cub and 2 complete sickel mowers. the one on the tractor is a 7' and there is a complete 4' or 5' with it as well plus sections and rivets etc.. That little cub runs like a watch and has good oil pressure and the gears and clutch seem tight. Needs some cometic work and all the lights and some new front rubber and then a paint job. Never owned a Cub before so driving it today was a new experience. Migraine

Congrats on being a Cub owner. They sound like a hoover vaccum to me when running right and you feel kinda tall in the saddle while driving one. I use my '64 with an L54A blade mounted out front to remove snow from my driveway. A set of truck chains are just right for the rear 8-24's. Happy Cubbing!
