I got it. Actually I have all four sleeves out ofvthe block. I still have to cut one piston out of it's sleeve but that is not a problem. Out comes the cutting wheel. I used a piece of rebar, ground it smooth and flat to go around the rod and then just beat on it with a 4 Lber untill it came loose. The rest came out with a 2x4 and piece of flat steel. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. Henry

Henry,
Won't you be deeding that sleeve that the piston is in? How will you get another one to match? They usually come in sets all matched up.

If you have a torch heat that sleeve and see if the piston will come out. Hal

Actually all the sleeves are bad rusty so I am replacing everything in the engine block except the cam and crankshaft and rods. I had to cut the #1 piston out of the sleeve to save the rod. Next is a good cleanup, nickel wwelding the crack in the block and starting to go the other way.(Installing new parts.)
