I do not have a dealer nearby that sells this product. I do have several auto parts dealers and a New Holland dealer nearby. Do any of these carry a transmission/hydraulic fluid equivalent? thanks

Farm-Oyl AgMaster Hyd Oil is as good as it gets. Specs out even better that Hy-Tran. Been using it for years.

Have been surfing around some of the Case IH sites and found good lubrication application site for newer Case IH tractotrs. Case IH by no means says pour Hy Tran in everthing on the newer tractors but calls for 85/90 or 85/140 grar lube in many of the gear boxes as well as Dexron ATF in somr systems.

If anyone would like to look at the reccomendations do a Googe search for..... .Akcela and Case IH-Steyr.

Jrry: I checked with a New Holland dealer parts mgr. on this same subject only in reverse. Ford-New Holland calls it 134 and you can inter-change it with CaseIH HyTran.

This gets into the same sort of debate as what engine oil brand is best, but I would contact Carter & Gruenewald, the caseIH dealer that Bermuda Ken works at, (www.cngco.com) or another caseIH dealer that is on the 'net and have them ship you some. Just because another brand of oil says it meets the specs, doesn't mean it is as good as Hytran.

Case New Holland buys their lubricants for both Case IH and Case New Holland from American Viscosity Oil Company and American Viscosity then outsources the blending and packaging to American Refining Group. American Refining Group markets hydraulic oils under several different brands that they say meeets Case IH specs so who knows?

advanced auto has a hytran equivalent, runs about $33/5gal. autozone has a general purpose hydraulic fluid which is fine, as long as u are using it in a hydraulic system. I would not use it if you have a TA
