Hi everyone! I have just a plane Farmall A with just he manual Lift but I am wanting to put convert to a 3 point hitch. Do the ones for the super A fit the A's? Also I want to put a small bush hog on the back of it. Do you think it would be possible to lift it off the ground once it was hooked up with out hiydralics like the super A's have? Any ideas would help. would it be possible to put hydralis on it? Thanks.

David

David It will be very difficult to raise a bush hog with manual lift. It is not cheap to rig hydraulics to your tractor. The engine block has no place to mount the pump. I have seen a couple rigged with power steering pumps from cars. You can buy a PTO driven pump they are expensive, and will not work any time the clutch is pushed in. If you had a super A or C engine block would be the best way as they are set up for live hydraulics and will fit right in your tractor, however you would still need a reservoir to hold oil. To me I would think it would be easier and cheaper to buy a tractor say super A or C or even a H already set up with hydraulics. Have you considered a pull type mower this would be the easy thing to do.

What you Need" is to get a hold of "Hugh Mckay"
He was the, man " to patten the 3pt" hitch for 1940-50 Farmall tractors.
