just purchased a mta, instead of the normal hyd lever from the res. it has a short lever with three slots. and the lever will move rt to left to go in any of the slots. does this mean it will operate a two way cylinder???

Deja Vu all over again in reply to Bill in Iowa, 02-24-2007 07:27:24
The exact same question with the same model tractor was asked last week. Maybe that SMTA is a hot potato.

One of those valves recently sold on eBay for about $80. I stole the picture and pasted it into my post on the thread. I also said that it was single acting. It would be interesting to know if the valve was used for other attachments or implements apart from the cultivators.

BTW, the Select-O-Lift predates the SMTA. It is in my H parts book.

BTW again. The search function on this site svcks. I tried to find the previous thread and it appears that no content newer than 2 months is available for searching. At the same time, one can't go back more than 13 pages which equates to 5 or 6 days. That leaves a large gap that is totally unavailable.

That is not for two way it is for selective lift as would be used on a 4 row cult so one side would be lifted and the other side could stay down.

Bill it sounds like you have the farmall selective lift control. This is a MTA Option. I am not sure I think it will work 2 way cylinders.
