I have my favorite from every series.

Just want opinions from different parts of the country.

BTW, I am from the Mississippi Delta and my family has close ties to Harvester Company until the "merger".

When its nice outside you like to start it up and show it off,... you know, like you use to do with your wife.

When the old men come round dont you love to talk about your "baby"?. Yea, I know, so do I.

For me?, yea, it's a Super A but I am sure you all feel the same way about your tactor.

As far as the TA is concerned... I'm sure a lot of people starting in '54 treated them like a 12 year old boy treats his ding dong when he finds out it ain't just for writing his name in the snow. When the fascination wore off and he learned how it's meant to be used, hopefully he would realize that if he didn't go jerking it any time he felt the urge or someone wanted to see how it worked that it would cost him much less money in the long run. Perhaps the IH dealers should have told the ol' boys that if you used it too many times you may go blind. I'm sure I would have been guilty of pulling it back too instead of simply lifting the disk up and inch or two in the tough spots. Imagine how neat of an innovation this was back in the day. Anyone would have used it any chance they got. Bad TA practices are still used to this day. I almost got fired telling my dumb*** boss when I was 16 years old that you shouldn't use the TA to slow down for turning corners in road gear. That was his solution instead of simply throttling down. You see what I mean?

When you first started using that name four or five years ago, I thought you were the real one.

BTW, the SMTA without the TA was a good tractor, down here the TA stood for "take away", farmers got tired of their tractors being in the shop getting the TA fixed, just as soon leave it out.

Would you settle for a SMTA with the range lever hanging on the tractor shed wall? Or a tractor with its planet gears welded to the carrier? To me, it is the TA & IPTO that makes that tractor. I have no interest in a SM.

Lemme guess, you probably had hired help that would pull the TA going downhill to slow the tractor down, or would ease the lever ahead and back, letting things slip...
