Three years ago I bought a Farmall C. About three weeks ago I noticed a leak from the head.
The leak is new and is over the 2nd and 3rd plugs.
Do I need a new head gasket?

My A is leaking oil at the same place. Was told that engine just overhauled so will try to re torque the head-but ordered a gasket set because I don't think any sealer was used on the gasket.

You didn't say if if is leaking coolant or oil, but either way retorquing, may help. Then if it is lealong coolant, though it's against my religion and I use it only because it sometimes works, try some radiator stop-leak. Again, sort of against your religion I'm guessing, but your local John Deere dealer sells a really good JD branded stop leak.

Thats not uncommon to see a leak there same thing happened last summer three yrs after o-haul so i cleaned the spot ground clean with a die grinder and used fiberglass resin stopped it clean. The oil passage going to the rocker arms is rite behind that area.

You can retorque head(in proper sequence) and it may stop the leak sometimes it works and sometimes it dont. If not you will need a new head gasket.

If the oil is coming from above the plugs, you might need a new valve cover gasket. The head gasket is located below the spark plugs. When you do the next tune up and adjust the valves, replace the v/c gasket. When you have the cover off check to see that the oil drains are clear. In the mean time, just keep an eye on the oil level.

I described the leak location incorrectly. It is betweem the head and block.
