The name plate for my 200 is long since gone. It is not posted on the tool box or on the left side of the cluch housing. Would the number be posted at any other location? I have checked behind the distributor where I found the number for my Model B. I haven't seen it there. Any suggestions?

L Mack: You asked this same question less than 1 week ago, since you did not believe what you were told then, it is highly unlikely you'll believe what I said earlier on this thread. There is NO OTHER place you will find a Farmall 200 tractor serial number other than on the left side of clutch housing, and if that is missing, your out of luck. THE ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER ON YOUR 200 WILL NOT BE THE SAME AS TRACTOR SERIAL NUMBER.

By the way on your B, the engine serial number is just under no.1 spark plug same as every other Farmall from 1939 to 1958.

Thanks Hugh. Unfortunately I did not get your earlier responce. I was never able to locate the forum again (Maybe because I am a novice at this)and I did not get an email notification as I did this time. I do believe you since I have looked everywhere I know to look. Thanks for your patience. I know the original owner who is deceased was a Mr. Cato. If the dealership is still around they may have records. I do not believe they are. Thanks again.

L Mack: Your engine has a serial number right under No. 1 spark plug. This will not be close to tractor serial number as 100 and 200 tractors each had their own sequence of tractor serial numbers starting at 501, while the engines from 100 and 200 shared a sequence of serial numbers.

If you go to casting date codes, they will tell you day, month and year each casting was cast. Usually one to four months before tractor was built.
