What do I need to look for before buying a 1965 60A series track loader. I have looked at all the obvious. I will be able to run the machine before I buy. Anything to be aware of in the powershift or engine area? Thanks
Bill

when you put the machine in gear forward or reverse with engine at an idle check for excessive hessitation of the machine going into gear you should feel it go in right away
if you have an area to operate the machine in watch to see if the converter temp is excessively hot . The 955h model is a excellent machine it has plenty of power for its size

Check for excessive blowby at the crankcase vent. When going forward to reverse make sure machine does not move one track before the other. Run machine up against something solid and see if you can spin the tracks at half throttle. With machine at just an idle lower bucket till you lift front of machine off ground then get off and check lower rollers for wear. Machine should hold it self up. Turn machine right and left going both direstion and notice the if the steering pedals (if equiped) respond equally. Hope this will give some idea as to what to check.
