I'm recently purchased a Case 310 dozer, and when working today, it jumped the track. How is the best way to get the track back on? I've loosened the adjustment as far as it will go, but just can't seem to get the track back on.

Any advice is appreciated!!

Thanks
Brad

Update..... I jacked up the side of the 310 enough to get the track under the rollers, and placed the track on the sprocket first. Then using a come-along with the 310 in neutral, I pulled the track towards the front and the track slipped up on the front idler. Then I let the jack down and adjusted the track.

Thanks to all of those who assisted me in this. This was a first for me..... and hopefully the last.

Thanks again
Brad

If your machine blade angles with hyd cylinders use the blade to pull the track foreward with a chain to help get the track where you want it. If no hydyulics to help then get a come along and some bars and sledge hammer and hydrulic jacks that work on their side and work at it till you get the job dore. Pay strict attention to the machine and you can usually catch it before you run the track off. If necessary have some one else watch the track for you.I can usually feel the track start to tighten up as it is about to jump off over the ft idler. Good Luck bc

I jumped the track on my 310 and was able to loosen it up and presured it to where I could drive forward and got it back on. The cause of jumping the track was that the rail and rollers were worn out. I replaced the rollers and rails and have not had a problem jumping. If your track is too loose you can have a binding problem.

If you don't mind my asking, what did new rails and rollers cost? Did you do the work yourself? If so, how difficult was it?

Thanks
Brad

Did you place the track on the sprocket first, or the idler wheel first?

Thanks
Brad

Brad, The track stayed on the idler and I just used a prybar to angle it enough on the sprocket that it pulled itself on. It took several tries as I was on a hillside and by myself.
