I am looking at a Case 350 now. Had been looking at a 310, but got a line on a 350 but don't know the cost yet. I found 2 S/N's on it, one on the left side body by the lift arm 4223996 and one on the left battery box 3054980. Can I get a year from these numbers? How do I identify the powershuttle? On the left had battery box there is a lever that is marked Aux Hydraulics and has forward and reverse action with neutral marked in the middle. Is this the powershuttle? Did all 350's have a shuttle? I also noticed alot of welding done on the rear of the machine, hard to explain the location, but it was on the body above the right rear track. Kind of worried me that there is so much welding there. I am not real familiar with these loaders, but am learning a lot here. Any help or insight anyone can give would be helpful.

John...I have owned a 310 case and have looked at several 350's. From my experience and what I have learned from other people, the 310 and 350 are weak in the final drive area. Get hold of a 6' bar and wedge it between the sprocket and final case and see if you can detect play in the shaft and final bearing. Do the same with the sprocket to see the play between the output shaft and the sprocket. ( The shaft and sprocket are a tapered spline ) It can add up to BIG BUCKS. I'd be concerned of welded areas also.
