I need to move a HD6 about 700 miles. I will need to rent a trailer, I will start looking tomorrow. My 3500 has 454 motor and goose neck ball 2-3/16. Elect breaks also. Where should I look for the trailer?

I haul my HD-6 15 miles with a one ton.My father inlaw ask if it was hard to pray and drive at the same time.I don't have trailer brake so I was on knees praying and brakeing you don't need to see When stopping. The antilock brake suck when you are over loaded. My two cents is get the right truck and trailer.I had to move it another 20 miles I hire it done Keith

i had a HD-6 loader a while back and it weighed 8 1/2 ton . I would hire it out or rent the proper size truck & trailer. you would need atleast a 2 ton truck with a 12 ton capasity trailer to haul it that far safe.

The hd6 weighs 12,600 lbs without a loader or blade according to the hotline farm equipment guide. My ton would do it with my 3 axle gooseneck, but not legally.I hauled my hd5 dozer(11,800 lbs not counting the 1500 lbs or so for the dozer blade) a hundred miles, had all the power in the world with half enough brakes, even with trailer brakes it'd take a quarter mile to stop from 70 mph.At 700 miles and probably a few different states,I believe I'd look for a hauler for hire and let them worry about the safety and the DOT.

I hauled a HD-7 with loader about 40 miles 20 years ago with a 2 ton truck and a 16k rated trailer.I got where I was going after 3 flat tires and lots of CLOSE CALLS.With today's DOT regulations and liabilities I'd hire a fella with the right equipment to haul it.Sometimes Fate should not be tempted to closely.

Hi, Bob. You probably could do it ----- -- if you had a strong death wish, a bottomless bank account to pay fines, a long string of alternative drivers to take over when each one got locked up for being so damn stupid as to try it and an endless supply of both tires and luck. I would also recommend having one HUGE insurance policy to cover any damage you may just happen to cause to any innocent bystanders, roads or buildings along your route.
If you have ALL those organised, go for it. If you have the slightest doubt about ANY of the above, HIRE IT DONE.

You have a wonderful journey. Best wishes. Deas.
