Can anyone tell me what the specs are for the thickness of the brake band and brake drum on a straight 350 dozer? Don't know if they need to be replaced or not, can't find it in the manual.
Thanks,
Jim

I looked at the ends of the bands, where there was little wear and compared the thickness to the rest. I looked at the ridge on the drum where the band doesn't hit. There didn't seem to be much wear on either. If they were replaced at one point, no way to tell. I decided not to replace mine...pretty much a judgement call.

Jim,

Can't help you. When I was trying to find out the same thing for a 440 I was told that even the dealers have no specs. I finally got them to call Atlanta, or wherever the bands were coming from, and measure a new one. Seemed odd to me that the dealer wouldn't know, but later the same thing happened with Cat. What the dealer shop guys do is anybody's guess. Good luck.
Tom
